What is your title at EvCC, and what will you be doing in your day-to-day endeavors at the College?
Fiscal Specialist 1 at the Corporate and Continuing Education Center. My tasks will include payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable and whatever additional support is needed.
Tell us a little about your professional background.
I worked at a CPA firm as a bookkeeper for multiple clients and tax preparation. Prior to that was the office manager and bookkeeper for a construction firm.
What was your first job?
I worked at Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour. We sang, clanged bells, ran a siren and generally made lots of noise as we delivered ice cream treats for people’s birthdays.
Describe yourself at 10 years old.
I had a vivid imagination, and loved to read so I usually brought home lots of books and occasionally stray or injured animals. My dream was to grow up and be an archaeologist.
Are you messy or organized?
I’m a combination. I like to be organized for most things, but often my desk and work space looks like somebody threw it in a blender and left the lid off. Although it may not look like it, I do usually know where to find what I’m looking for.
What is your favorite meal?
A grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup.
What do you do in your spare time?
When I’m not working or in school, I like to read, write stories, hike, and go the gym. I also do some volunteer work with Homeward Pet Adoption Center and also help to serve meals to homeless individuals and families.
What’s on your bucket list?
Traveling to Africa, Egypt and Peru to see the wild animals, the pyramids and Machu Picchu. I would also like to take my Mom on a cruise to Alaska, climb Mt. Rainier, publish a children’s book and “retire” to a beach house on the Oregon Coast.
What is your favorite hobby or pastime?
Reading, writing stories, hiking, travel and going to the beach.
What are you reading right now/ what was the last book you read? (Or, what is on your Fall Reading List?)
Currently I am reading The Wrong Man by David Ellis.

The Herald, as I like to find out what is going on in my community and the local area.
If you could witness any historical event, what would you want to see?
When Harold Carter discovered Tutankhamen’s tomb and its treasurers in November of 1922. Did I mention I was interested in archaeology?
Where is your hometown?
I was born in Park Ridge, IL, but moved to Kirkland, WA when I was three and grew up there.
If your life were a book, what would it be titled?
It’s a Wonderful Life – There are so many things to do and see, and I really value my family and friendships.
